Ms. Gabrielle Salman principal Gabrielle is an executive with extensive architect experience in master planning, facilities management, project management and field operations. She has an undeniable track record of bringing complex projects from conception through completion to the operation, on-time and within budget. Having over thirty years of progressive hands-on experience for over 2 million square feet of area and being responsible for annual budgets spanning over $200 million, she continues to practice her craft. As a licensed and educated New York State Architect from 1992 to today, Gabrielle started her career in Europe, where she obtained her Masters of Science in Architecture at the Slovak Technical University in Czechoslovakia. Additionally, she attended the American Institute for Mental Imagery New York City, Psychology: exploring spirit-mind-body concepts. Professional Experience 2001-present; Principal – Gabrielle Salman Architect, focusing on residential and commercial architecture Noted Achievements & Awards: - Received the New York City Art Commission Annual Award for Excellence in Design for restoration and addition to the Gowanus Pumping Station (National Landmark) in 1985. - Spearheaded a comprehensive master plan for physical facilities for long-term periods, identifying major land uses and building sites. Prepared feasibility studies for individual areas of change affected by the master planning efforts. From 1997-2000, she held the Associate Director for Facilities Operations position at Northern Manhattan Network Harlem Hospital Center NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation, Columbia University Affiliation New York City. Solely responsible for planning, design and construction. Leading the campus-wide master plan development, ongoing construction capital improvements and consultants and construction management supervision within 1.2 million square feet of campus and $25 million annual budget. Spearheaded development facilities-wide Master Plan for The Northern Manhattan Network incorporating a strategic plan and corporate mission and vision statement, for the campus of 1.2 million square feet and expenditure of $200 million over the 9 years. Co-chaired the Master Planning Committee. Completed the first phase of the Master Plan by building Emergency Services Suite of 10,000 square feet within a $4.5 million budget. - From 1992-1997, Gabrielle was the Director of Facilities Design and Construction at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, where she was responsible for directing the planning, design and construction of capital improvement projects for addition and renovation of existing hospital complexes up to 1 million square feet and up to $25 million annually. Lead in-house design and construction teams as well as consultant and construction management. - Northern Westchester Hospital Center | Mount Kisco NY Private consultant to the hospital administration. Lead a hospital-wide redesign and revitalizing efforts, inclusive of Emergency area, Radiology area, Maternity area, and creating luxury suites for local celebrities. - PACE University; Organized and spearheaded university-wide master planning efforts, conducted space needs and assessment survey, analyzed needs and prepared a comprehensive master plan for 2 million square foot campuses: New York City, White Plains, Pleasantville, and Briarcliff. Developed space tracking and reporting mechanism for space inventory. Prepared feasibility studies for individual areas of change affected by the master planning efforts, i.e.: The Welcome Center, One-Stop Shopping Center, the Graduate Center, the Dormitory Study. - Lenox Hill Hospital Developed campus-wide unifying design concept expressing the hospital’s unique identity. Revitalized a hospital campus’s antiquated institutional environment and turned it into a positively charged healing environment of care by incorporating balanced proportions, soothing colors and a pleasant atmosphere within the design of all projects. Major projects include: Two surgical suites utilizing Airflow clean air system for total knee and total hip, Radiology Suite with MRI Unit, Ambulatory Surgery Center, One-Day Surgery Center, Main and Side Lobbies, Pediatric Acute Care Unit, Pediatric Inpatient Unit, Cardiac Care Unit, Catheterization Unit, EPS Lab, Blood Donor Center, Psychiatric Outpatient and Inpatient Units, Private Practice Suites, Robotic Pharmacy, Pathology Department, Psychology Department, etc., 1 million square feet, all within $25 million annual budget. Interfaced with private donors and philanthropic society. Lead in-house design and construction teams, as well as consultant and construction management. Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Managed the planning, design, and construction of the hospital-wide campus. Major projects include Surgical Day Hospital, Oncology, and Radiology, Pathology, Research Laboratories, Pharmacy, Pediatric Suite, etc. 2 million square feet.
